The move aims to provide uninterrupted internet connectivity to frontline cities, the Israeli Ministry of Communications said in a statement. A ministry official added that Starlink will serve as a backup option in case other systems are disabled.
The Israeli ministry said it was also considering cutting off internet and telephone services in Gaza.
The ministry also confirmed that it was working to close the Israeli offices of Al Jazeera, the Qatari state news network, which was “used for Hamas propaganda, incitement and harming national security in wartime.”
As Ukrinform reported, Israel postponed the start of the ground operation against Hamas, which was planned to be held in the Gaza Strip last weekend, due to adverse weather conditions.
