If the annual fee is rejected, platform users will only be able to read other posts, watch videos and follow other accounts, the company said.
“This will allow us to evaluate a potentially effective tool that will help us fight bots and spammers on X by balancing the usability of the platform with a small fee,” the former Twitter user said in a statement.
Users from New Zealand and the Philippines who signed up to the platform before the fee was implemented will not have to pay this fee.
As Ukrinform reported, on September 19, Elon Musk, owner of the social network X, suggested that all users of the old Twitter may have to pay for access to the platform.
