Al Shanti was born in 1957 in the Jabaliya refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. He was a member of the PLC and prominent Hamas figure so much so that she became the first woman elected to a position in the group’s political office in 2021.

At the time, she said in a statement to Al-Aqsa TV that the presence of women in Hamas leadership would be valuable contribution to the future of the organization.

“As part of the women’s movement, We had not been to the Hamas political office before. but we have participated in the group and in decision-making before,” he noted then.

Al Shanti, an English major, was one of the women elected in 2006. Member of the Hamas electoral list.

She has always been a very active figure in the group’s women’s movement in Gaza and, in fact, founded the women’s organization Hamas.
