OnePlus Open is the company’s first foldable phone. Attractive, thin, light, with great performance in all its sections, full of technology and – like other premium folding products – with a relatively high price.
The segment of folding mobile phones is still expanding its offer. They are still a niche market among a large group of smartphones, but it is the only design that continues to grow after a year of declining sales, and this week we had two news, the Oppo Find N3, which we already told you about and the OnePlus Open, which concerns us in this record.
The manufacturer chooses the format of the “book” type. which we have already seen in most folding products, such as the Samsung Galaxy Z5 Fold or the Google Pixel Fold, and which opens or closes half thanks to a hinge system to use its inner or outer screen. After deployment, we will see a multi-touch main screen 7.82 inch AMOLEDwith a native resolution of 2440 x 2268 pixels, a refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz, a 240 Hz touch response and a maximum brightness that can reach up to 2,800 nits.

After composing, we get to the second screen, 6.31-inch external AMOLED with a resolution of 2484 x 1116 pixels with a striking 20:9 aspect ratio. It also supports refresh rates up to 120Hz.

The phone works with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2Qualcomm’s top SoC and comes with just one memory configuration at launch: 16GB of LPDDR5x memory and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Other notable features include a dual-cell battery with a combined capacity 4805 mAhsupport 67W fast charging and charging system main camera with triple sensor:
- 48MP camera (Sony LYT-T808)
- 64MP telephoto lens (Omnivision OV64B with 3x optical zoom)
- 48MP ultra-wide-angle camera (Sony IMX581 with 114-degree field of view and 3.5 cm macro support)

There are also two “front” cameras, including a 20MP on the main screen and a 32MP on the cover screen. The OnePlus Open has a USB 3.1 Type-C port for charging and data, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, three speakers with surround sound support, and Dolby Atmos sound. In terms of wireless options, it includes support for Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and 5G, and the phone supports two SIM cards.
OnePlus sells the terminal in two color variants and ships with OxygenOS 13.2 “Open Canvas” software based on Android 13, but includes the company’s own optimizations for the foldable device in terms of multitasking, interface and customization.

The affordable price was not expected and you will have to invest $1,700 to get the OnePlus Open. Slightly lower than the launch price of the Galaxy Fold5, but a very high price that prevents it from reaching a mass audience. Just like the rest of the big folding ones.
