He also emphasized that CBP is working with allies inside and outside the U.S. to address what he called “historic migration” on the continent.

More than 7.7 million Venezuelan migrants and refugees

The border arrests came just over two weeks after the U.S. announced it would resume migrant deportation flights to Venezuela after years of freezing the practice as a measure to curb migration.

At the same time, they believe that restrictions introduced in May by the Biden government have failed to stop migration.
