BlueBird Aero Systems, a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries Group, has introduced the innovative SpyX attack drone. The drone reaches a speed of 150 km/h and carries a warhead weighing 2.5 kg, and the error in hitting the target does not exceed 1 meter.
SpyX is a disposable drone designed for attack missions. As BlueBird Aero Systems guarantees, tactical military groups will be able to use it to detect and defeat targets at a distance of up to 50 km.
The new drone is very light and maneuverable, its engine allows it to reach speeds of up to 150 km/h. The open architecture allows the drone to conduct reconnaissance alongside other BlueBird UAVs such as WanderB-VTOL and ThunderB-VTOL.
The main advantage of SpyX is very high accuracy, an error of less than 1 m reduces the risk of secondary damage. It is powered by an advanced dual-sensor payload and an advanced electro-optical video camera for guidance.
With their help, the drone can autonomously carry out attacks using a 2.5 kg anti-personnel, anti-tank or anti-vehicle warhead. Depending on the target, operators can adjust the warhead before launching it. SpyX requires a ground station with a laptop and two people to run.
Ronen Nadir, CEO of BlueBird Aero Systems, called SpyX a “revolution” in the field of military UAVs. According to him, the system combines innovative technologies with versatility and economy, which will significantly increase the effectiveness and accuracy of attacks, as well as the situational awareness of the army.
