In the latest issue of the Power On newsletter, Gurman said that Apple is “planning a Mac-focused product launch later this month,” which could lead to the release of a refreshed 24-inch “iMac” model, an overdue hardware update. . The current model was released in April 2021 and is the only current-generation Mac with the M1 chip. Gurman has repeatedly said that Apple’s next iMac will not have the M2 and will replace it with the M3 chip, but he declined to say in this newsletter exactly which chip the new computer will feature.

Gurman noted that Apple’s retail stores are currently short of “iMacs,” 13-inch MacBook Pros, and 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros, and many configurations will no longer arrive until mid-November. It’s a clear sign that something must be going on with these three cars. He added that Apple is “starting work” on the new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros.
