Meta is revamping the look of WhatsApp button by button. The biggest change so far is the bottom button panel and the settings menu integrated into the profile. A third change, in some ways more effective than its predecessors, was missing: white styleSimilar to what WhatsApp looks like on iOS.
What’s up white dresses with their most radical redesignAfter it was leaked a few months ago we were finally able to test it. Essentially, the top green bar that’s been with us all these years turns white (or black if you’re using dark mode).
WhatsApp is clearer (or darker) than ever
Remember when Google Play showed green highlights in its top bar and then started using white for everything overnight? WhatsApp got almost exactly what it was looking for in its latest redesign homogenize how the app looks on an Android mobile and an iPhone.
After this redesign was leaked in August, it has now started to be activated for some beta users of the app. It’s easy to know if this is the case because overnight WhatsApp is losing its colors and if you use light mode everything becomes dim except for the app name in the chats tab which is still green.
WhatsApp redesign ends the top color baris displayed in the same background color as the rest of the app. The result is a minimalist design that gives more visual prominence to our contacts’ names and follows the same lines as Messenger or Instagram.
The green top bar that has accompanied us for many years is fading in all sections of the interface, including chats and settings. Meanwhile The styles of some icons also change to show its silhouette rather than a solid shape.
New and old layout chat with light mode and dark mode chat same with new and old layout
With dark mode WhatsApp’s top bar had already disappeared, but it continued to appear in a slightly different color than the rest of the app. With the new design, the top bar and content adopt the same tone, and this tone is darker than before.
Now that this new design has been enabled for some users, it’s only a matter of time before it reaches everyone as the latest change. WhatsApp for Android and iOS look more similar than everWhether we like it or not.
