refurbished or dying; WhatsApp has to think about this every time it adds a new feature to its app. One of the last is the reactions to messages, as we already know, but the platform is already preparing. more features coming soon. Companion mode to use WhatsApp on two mobile phones at the same time or the possibility of leaving a group without their knowledge are some of them.
Now, WaBetaInfo assures that WhatsApp has prepared new filters. facilitate the search for specific chatssuch as groups and contacts that have unread messages or are not in your calendar. These filters have not yet arrived in the mobile app, but we have already been able to test them in the new version of WhatsApp for Windows 10/11 UWP.
To make it easier for us to search for messages and chats, WhatsApp sorts chats chronologically. by date of last message. A few years ago, it also added filters to distinguish messages by photo, text, video, GIF, audio, documents… Search even more with the new function it has prepared for its mobile app.
For now, we’ve only been able to see how the new search filters work in WhatsApp UWP for Windows 10, but WaBetaInfo says it’s coming to the WhatsApp mobile app as well. Basically, this new tool will allow us to filter chats by four criteria:
not read: Shows only chats with unread messages.
persons: filter the chats of people we save in the calendar.
unregistered persons: find chats of people we have not saved.
groups: Show only group chats and hide individual chats.
Until now, as we know, it was only possible to filter messages by file type, so these new filters will be very useful for those who have a lot of chats of all types. By choosing any of these filters, only these chats will be shown to us in our message list. They are already available on WhatsApp Business professional accounts, will be enabled for everyone on the app soon.
