It’s already happened a little over a month and a half since Starfield’s arrival on the market, which was first available exclusively to premium buyers for a few days, only to be fully released shortly after on September 6th. During this time, and as expected, we saw very, very notable aspects of the game, such as the five points we shared after testing, as well as others that could be improved, such as the lack of technology support that would improve its operation .
There is something that works very much in Starfield’s favor with its lights and shadows, and that is Bethesda’s Unofficial Mod Policy. Unlike other companies that are extremely restrictive in this regard, Bethesda is very active in promoting this ecosystem, even providing them with official tools to develop all sorts of add-ons. We’ve seen this before, with other franchises from the house, and although the official tools are yet to arrive (they’ve been announced for 2024), the mods available for the game are already close to 5,000 on NexusMods alone.
So, Since its launch, we’ve seen modders come to the rescue, just to cover those aspects that Bethesda didn’t consider, at least initially, for Starfield. Two very clear examples of these can be found on the one hand in the support of NVIDIA technologies, both DLSS 2 and DLSS 3, and on the other in Slower than Light, an add-on that adds more than expected space navigation to Starfield. And I repeat, these are just two examples, if you go through the whole list, you will find that everything is there.
Well, today VG247 focused on an accessory that I personally was so impressed with that I didn’t want to stop bringing it. I am talking about Human Activity on Earth, a mod that adds elements of human activity on Earth in the Starfield, as its name already suggests. And if you’ve played it, you’ve probably already visited our planet to find that in this temporary moment, what was our home has become a wasteland with few elements to remind us that it once housed life.
This is of course consistent with the chronology they form tradition in the game, but it is also true that at the cost of exploring other planets, we may find some that are theoretically even less habitable than Earth, but despite this they show a certain type of human activity. It seems somewhat strange, then, that the very thing which was the origin of the human race should not offer us something, however little, in this respect.
