The relationship between China and Apple seems to be getting tense by the day and the company is slowly shifting its production to other countries, right? At least that’s what we’ve heard and believed several times so far. But it seems that the relationship between the American tech giant and this Asian country is better than ever. In fact, we recently stated that CEO Tim Cook met with China’s IT minister. According to recent reports, China continues to produce more than 95 percent of Apple products.

Apple CEO Cook: More than 95 percent of Apple products are still produced in China

Apple CEO Tim Cook continues his China tour. As part of this tour, Cook recently visited a Foxconn factory in the area. During this visit, he emphasized that more than 95% of Apple products are still produced in China. Apple, one of the world’s largest technology companies, has a significant presence in China across several industries, including smartphones, computers, tablets and smartwatches.

In fact, Apple has been trying to move production out of China for a while. The company decided to take this step due to the difficulties it faced, especially during the pandemic. They see India as their secondary operations center and aim to make it the “iPhone factory of the world”. However, it seems that these plans are still in their early stages and it does not seem possible to move production from China in the near future. In an interview, Cook stated that Apple seeks mutually beneficial collaboration with its supply chain partners.

Earlier, Foxconn chairman Wang Laichun also gave an interview. He said Foxconn produced three iPhone 15 models for Apple this year, and that business has doubled compared to last year. He also said that the company is preparing to produce the upcoming Apple Vision Pro VR headset.

Apple hopes to continue deepening its business in China and continue to cooperate with Chinese supply chain partners to achieve a mutually beneficial situation.
