At the virtual and augmented reality AWE EU conference in Vienna, an immersive exhibition Living the War (“Living the War”) was shown, which allows you to immerse yourself in life in Ukraine during the Russian War with the help of VR technologies. infestation.

This was reported by Ukrinform’s correspondent in Austria.

“The project offers the opportunity to see the results of Russia’s war in Ukraine with 360-degree real images. You can see the damage caused to cities such as Irpin, Kharkiv and Izyum, as well as the damage that the war inflicted on people. There are people who died, were injured or lost their homes in the brutal Russian occupation. However, you can also see the resistance against this occupation in the images of Ukrainian soldiers fighting the enemy on the battlefield and surgeons suturing the wounds of this war.” Maryna Tymchenko is the director of operations at Sensorama, one of the developers of Living The War.

He noted that the Russian Federation’s war against Ukraine was “the first situation in history where it was not possible to conceal even a single war crime.”

“Everything is obvious, it is recorded and shown on the news 24/7. The Russians are still trying to silence this situation by making propaganda, tracking and terrorizing people in the occupied territories. But this project is proof that it is really impossible to hide it. Tymchenko said: “This is the war of war “It’s proof that something terrible happened and everyone who started it must bear responsibility,” he added.

Visitors to the exhibition can see what Ukrainians face every day, thanks to virtual reality glasses. Putting on their glasses, they immerse themselves in a 360-degree video of wartime realities in Ukraine, they can turn, look behind, up and down – thus gaining the effect of full presence and the possibility of deeper empathy.

Living The War was created by the non-governmental organization The Game Changers with technical support from Sensorama, a Kiev-based company that deals with immersive technologies. The project, designed to convey information about the war crimes of the Russian Federation to the international public and to attract additional support to Ukraine, was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.

The European virtual and augmented reality conference AWE EU 2023 will be held in Vienna on 24-25 October, with the participation of more than 120 exhibitors and 2,000 visitors. The fair also includes a Ukrainian pavilion where Sensorama, Tsukat and FFFACE.ME companies are introduced.

As reported, the first exhibition of works of art objects created from pieces of weapons and equipment with the aim of rethinking the narrative of the war and showing that art is a force of revival has opened in Kiev.
