Apple Announces October Mac Event: ‘Frighteningly Fast’

Apple today announced its second Fall 2023 event, taking place on Monday, October 30 at 5pm PT. Apple’s October event will be all about Macs, and the company is expected to update several Macs in its product lineup. The Apple Events website features the Apple logo on a black background that transforms into a Mac Finder icon, confirming that the event is targeting Macs.

Like previous events, this October event will be pre-recorded and online only, with no in-person component.

Mac rumors have been confusing in recent months, but there are a few possibilities. We could see an updated version of the 24-inch iMac because the machine still uses Apple’s M1 silicon chip. Mark Gurman Bloomberg He said that they do not expect a MacBook Air update, but that the 13-inch MacBook Pro, 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro could potentially receive new chips.

It’s unclear whether the update will focus on the new M3 series chips, but depending on what gets updated we could see ‌iMac‌ and MacBook Pro models adopting the 3nm M3 chip series.

Considering the confusion around the Mac lineup right now, this is one of the most mysterious developments we’ve had yet, but we’ll likely hear more as October 30th approaches.

Apple plans to stream the event live on its website, YouTube and via the Apple TV app. For those unable to watch, MacRumors will be covering the entire event on MacRumors.com and on the MacRumorsLive Twitter account.
