The data company NetApp has launched a number of new products and updates. There are updates for flash block storage, public cloud storage, and Keystone Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS).

American data storage and management company NetApp has introduced a number of updates and innovations to its products. Keystone Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS), block storage, and public cloud storage all received upgrades. The announcements were made during its own Insight 2023 event.

With a flash

Earlier this year, NetApp launched the All-Flash SAN Array (ASA) block storage system. The company is now continuing to build on this ASA C series. According to NetApp, this new generation of block storage would offer the speed of flash storage at almost the price of disk storage.

The system has a 4:1 storage guarantee and almost 100% data availability. The new products are also eligible Ransomware recovery guarantee from NetApp. The system is connected to the cloud, which means backup, incident recovery, etc gradation to this cloud.

According to CEO Sandeep Singh, this new system makes block storage both more affordable and sustainable. In addition, there are some additional services at no additional cost: existing infrastructure assessment, data migration and training.

In the clouds

The first public storage for enterprises in the cloud was launched by NetApp in 2014. Nine years later, the storage service is offered by all major cloud providers such as Google.

For Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP becomes TCO (Total ownership costs) then reduced again. This is done by connecting to VMware Cloud on AWS via VPC peering. Data access for native cloud applications is simplified with unified file and object access.
