Lu Weibing, who was present at the Snapdragon 2023 Summit, showed off the Xiaomi 8 smartphone built on the basis of the Snapdragon 3 Gen 14 single-chip system.

A photo of the Xiaomi president holding a smartphone was already published, but it was impossible to view it. The new photo shows a bright green rear panel and a square main camera unit with three image sensors.

The standard version from Xiaomi will be available in four colors: white, green, pink and black. According to official information, Xiaomi 14 will receive a flat screen with a diagonal of 6.36 inches with a narrow frame around the perimeter.

For the first time, the phone will feature a 1.2 µm single pixel 1/1.31 inch Optical Shadow Hunter image sensor. It will also be equipped with a Leica Optical Summilux lens. Both models will be equipped with a 75mm telephoto lens.

Lu Weibing also said that Xiaomi and Qualcomm signed an agreement to supply a large number of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen3 SoCs for Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro. The starting batch of new chips was twice as large as last year.

Therefore, the first batch of the Xiaomi 14 series, which is currently ready for delivery, will be twice the size of the first batch of the previous generation Xiaomi 13. The new product launch conference will be held on October 26.
