The Chinese firm’s Lenovo Tech World 2023 event this week promises to showcase interesting products and innovations, including highlighting Motorola’s new foldable mobile phone that can be worn as a giant smartwatch, among other things.
Flexible screens make it possible new shape formats this would not be possible with typical flat screens. Its main area of use so far has been smartphones, but we’ve also seen laptops and more. Motorola has one of the best folding devices with clamshell design in the Razr 40 line (the third modern version of the iconic phone that took off sales more than fifteen years ago), but it’s willing to go further.
This Motorola flip phone is great
Although there are no guarantees that it will make it to market as it is in the “concept” stage, it looks spectacular. We assume that Motorola wants to test the level of interest before going into production. Is it a practical use of folding screen technology? We don’t know, but it is to be applauded that manufacturers dare to come up with innovative designs that stand out among identical mobiles.
The device is based on a flexible pOLED screen with native FHD+ resolution “which can be folded and given different shapes according to the needs of the users”. That way, when it’s fully deployed, you get standard 6.9-inch mobile use.

You can also fold it up and set it up on any surface like a tent to take selfies or video calls without having to hold it.

And if you fold the screen more, you will achieve the most amazing feature of Motorola’s new foldable mobile phone, wear it on your wrist like a smart watchmeaning you can display notifications, widgets, or other apps, including video players, media playback controls, or even a keyboard for replying to messages.
It is not the first time that a hybrid phone and bracelet concept. In 2016, Motorola’s parent company Lenovo introduced a phone called the Cplus, which featured a similar ribbed back and a foldable screen that wrapped around the wrist like a smartwatch. It was unusually tall and was a concept that never saw the light of day as a commercial device. Another one to name was the Nubia Alpha, a sleek retro-futuristic device that was essentially a smartphone but looked more like a bracelet with a flexible screen strip.

reported by Motorola Android in your ad, so turning the concept into reality won’t require much effort on the software optimization side. The company says it will run its own generative artificial intelligence and personal assistant model called MotoAI.
