Cisco has extensively updated its AI assistant for Webex. The system received updates related to audio, video and voice.

In June of this year, Cisco introduced a number of new AI features for its collaboration solutions. When it came to big innovations and interesting updates, we were a bit at a loss. The American company must have heard the grumbling of our knowledge stomachs because it is giving the AI assistant in Webex a lot of upgrades.

Smarter, smarter

This new AI strategy combines LLMs with intelligent audio and video for Real-Time Media Models (RMMs). This offers many possibilities, such as: B. recognizing people and objects or movement analysis (e.g. hand gestures). For example, thanks to the combination of LLMs and intelligent audio and video, the system detects when someone leaves the conversation and automatically creates a summary when that person returns.

There is AI Audio Codec for the sound. This should always ensure an optimal listening experience by amplifying speech and removing annoying noises. The system also uses less bandwidth. This should ensure the ideal sound in every situation. The image is provided by Super Resolution machine learning AI.

There is more

The updated AI brings further innovations:

  • Suggestions for changing the tone of a message (friendlier, more professional)
  • Response suggestions (e.g. for contact centers)
  • Summaries of specific messages (for example, only from a specific person)
  • Extensive translation options
  • Summaries by topic or highlight

The intention is to integrate this assistant into the entire Webex portfolio.

In addition to the updated AI assistant, Cisco is introducing several new products and upgrades. For example, there are the new wireless earphones, together with Bang & Olufsen, another collaboration. AI is also fully integrated into the closer collaboration between Cisco and Nvidia for a vision of hybrid work.
