Maine State Police and the county sheriff previously said there was an active shooter Wednesday night but did not provide details.
The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office posted two photos of the suspect on Facebook, saying he is at large.

The county sheriff asked for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the photo: a bearded man wearing a long-sleeve shirt and jeans, holding a rifle in a firing position.
Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston released a statement saying it was “responding to mass casualties and shootings” and coordinating with area hospitals to accept patients.
Lewiston is part of Androscoggin County and is approximately 35 miles (56 km) north of Maine’s largest city, Portland.
