Veeam and Sophos integrate their technology to better detect and respond to cyber threats and quickly recover affected data
Veeam enters into a strategic partnership with Sophos. The Veeam Data Platform integrates with Sophos Managed Detection and Response (MDR). This combination is intended to improve the security of business-critical backups.
The Veeam Data Platform monitors an organization’s environment to detect potential threats in production workloads of customers’ backup environments. If a threat is detected, Veeam sends an alert to Sophos MDR. The security team then determines whether an attack will occur and takes measures to disrupt, contain and eliminate the attacker.
Thanks to the collaboration, both manufacturers want to better protect companies from ransomware and improve response times to threats. They want to use their tools to identify internal threats more quickly and prevent accidental deletions.
Enforcing compliance is also an important component. The privacy and security features can help companies meet regulatory compliance requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulations.
The Veeam Data Platform and Sophos MDR integration is expected to be available later this year.
