Moving on to the hardware requirements discussion… Microsoft updated the Windows 11 compatible processor list once the “Moments 4” update was deployed and is preparing to launch this year’s major release, 23H2, which we expect in the coming weeks.

Microsoft assures it “these processors meet design principles for security, reliability, and minimum system requirements for Windows 11”. Subsequent generations of processors that follow the same principles will be considered compatible, even if not explicitly listed, because Microsoft does not update the list until new versions of the operating system are released.

Processors compatible with Windows 11

Microsoft’s list is official, but This does not mean that you cannot install the system on computers with other CPUs. It is the result of chaotic management of minimum requirements, artificially increased and which ended up penalizing system adoption and lower than expected market share. In any case, if you have questions, we recommend reading the special Windows 11 via hardware where we check the minimum and recommended levels so we can do it with warranty.

If you do not have a compatible processor and want to install the latest Microsoft system, Don’t worry because you can still do it. Microsoft has finally taken a pragmatic approach to the problem to increase the aforementioned user base and it is very easy to skip the requirements, both for the CPU and other controversial sections such as TPM and Secure Boot. Simply use Rufus to create a bootable USB.

In addition, the list of processors is very extensive a large number of models for the two supported x86 vendors, Intel and AMD, as well as the major Qualcomm ones used for Windows on ARM computers. We’ll leave you with an updated list that will be the same for the Windows 11 23H2 launch in the coming weeks.

  • Processors Intel Compatible with Windows 11.
  • AMD processors Compatible with Windows 11.
  • Qualcomm processors Compatible with Windows 11.
