American company Daimler has finally started production of its flagship electric medium-duty truck, the Freightliner eM2, at its Portland, Oregon factory. As reported by Ukrinform, Engadget reported this.

The company also did not disclose details on when the first production units would go on sale.
Freightliner eM2 will be produced in two versions. The model, which has a battery with a capacity of 194 kW per hour, can travel up to 451 km on a single charge. Another model of the electric truck, equipped with a battery with a capacity of 291 kW per hour, can travel up to 402 km on a single charge.
The Freightliner eM2 electric truck has been in development since 2019.
The Volvo FE electric truck competing with the eM2 is said to have a range of up to 435 km and is expected to be delivered this autumn.
According to Ukrinform, German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz Trucks introduced its electric truck capable of long-distance transportation.
