A Core i7-14700HX processor appeared on the test page PugetBenchwhich along with previous leaks suggests that Intel will move the ‘Raptor Lake Refresh’ platform into the notebook segment.
You already know that Intel introduced a new platform as the 14th generation of processors, and here we publish an analysis of the top of the line for desktop computers (Core i9-14900K) and some of the motherboards that will support them, such as the GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS Pro x.
14th Gen Intel Core i7-14700HX for Notebooks
The presence of this core confirms that Intel will also sell them for laptops, although the underlying platform will remain the same than their 13th generation counterparts, which means DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen5 support, as well as a default TDP of 55W and a maximum power of up to 157W.

The Core i7-14700HX will support up to 64GB of memory, but it’s not known if its core configuration will be like its desktop counterpart (8P+12E) or if Intel will keep the previous generation’s 8P+8E. An increase in work frequency is expected. As a novelty, we see a discrete GPU from Intel, Arch A570Mand it’s interesting because the latest high-end Core-HX processors include NVIDIA RTX-40 series dedicated graphics.
In addition to this model, two more are expected, which have also appeared in various databases: the Core i9-14900HX as the peak of the series a Core i5-14650HX as the foundation of the platform. We don’t know the release date, but it shouldn’t be too long before Intel’s main partners hit the market: ASUS, MSI, Lenovo, HP…
It is likely that, as in recent years, Intel will maintain several different generations in its catalog. And we mention it because a new generation of ‘Meteor Lake’ is in development. In case you’re lost, and it’s not unusual to come across an overwhelming catalog, you can check out our latest special on Intel’s processor catalog and try to make sense of it. Of course, add these “Restore” for desktops as well as laptops.
