Tencent has patented a new technology that allows users to hide and encrypt chat conversations. The patent, titled “Method for Displaying Chat Conversations, Device, Terminal, and Data Bearer,” was published on October 24. The patent describes a method of hiding chat conversations by moving them from the main chat interface to a hidden chat interface. To access the secret chat interface, users must first enter a password. This two-step process helps protect the confidentiality of private conversations.

The patent also describes a method of encrypting chat conversations. This means that conversations will be encrypted so that only the user who knows the password can read them. This will further protect the privacy of conversations even if someone gains access to the device.

Tencent has not yet announced when or if it plans to implement this technology in its products. But the patent shows that the company is interested in developing new ways to protect the privacy of its users’ communications.
