The G7 intergovernmental forum has developed a code of conduct on AI for companies. Six months after the first discussions on this topic, the seven industrialized countries have agreed on a text.

The G7 (Germany, France, Great Britain, Canada, USA, Japan and Italy) are developing an AI code of conduct for companies. This was reported by the Reuters news agency. The topic was already on the agenda at the summit in May together with the EU. The AI working group that was founded at that time was called that AI process in Hiroshimato the location of the summit.

safety first

The document is intended to be a standard for how nations deal with AI. Data protection and security are particularly important points. The EU itself is already working on this.

The code contains eleven points “to promote safe and reliable AI worldwide”. The document will be a guide that organizations developing advanced AI can voluntarily adopt. The text should highlight the benefits of AI as well as the risks and challenges.

Companies are required to identify, assess and mitigate these risks throughout the AI cycle. Thorough security precautions must be taken for this.

Organizations also need to address incidents and patterns of abuse after their AI products come to market. The text encourages companies to publish public reports on the capabilities and limitations of their AI, as well as misuse and use.
