• Apple M3: Supported 8-core CPU (4+4), 10-core GPU and 32 GB maximum unified memory.
• Apple M3 Max: 12-core CPU (6+6), 18-core GPU and 36GB maximum unified memory supported.
• Apple M3 Ultra: 16-core CPU (12+4), 40-core GPU and 128GB maximum unified memory supported.

Apple says its M3 series chips bring the range Improved CPU and GPU performance which can be summarized as:

• The powerful cores are 15% faster than the M2 chip and 30% faster than the M1 chip.
• The efficient cores are 30% faster than M2 and 50% faster than M1.
• The performance of the Neural Engine, an AI engine with 16 cores, is 15% faster than M2 and 60% faster than M1.
• The M3 series chip can deliver the same multi-threaded performance as the M1 using only half the power and up to 35 percent more performance at full power.
• Integrated graphics now support hardware-accelerated ray tracing, dynamic caching, and efficiency improvements for up to 2.5x rendering speed. It also has support for AV1 video decoding.

Apple says the new MacBook Pros have “the best screens ever seen on laptops”with panels mini-LED Liquid Retina XDR which come factory calibrated and include ProMotion technology and professional reference profiles. They can reach a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and are available in 14 or 16 inch diagonals.

The sound system has also been upgraded with a six-speaker array, three studio-quality microphones and a 1080p webcam. They include a wide range of ports (Thunderbolt, HDMI…) for the use of high-performance peripherals, high-resolution monitors and SDXC memory cards.

They are compatible with the latest wireless standards, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3and Apple promises up to 22 hours of autonomy.
