Minisforum V3 is a new 3 in 1 device which the Chinese firm just announced. Located in the Surface Duo category, it will run Windows and debut an AMD Ryzen 8000 series APU.

The Minisforum V3 is essentially a large tablet with a multi-touch screen 14 inchesnative resolution 2.5 thousandrefresh rate up to 165 Hz and optical pen support, compatible with MPP 2.0 and with 4096 pressure levels.

In addition to working as a tablet, you can work on a desktop like a laptop by adding a keyboard and using a support on the back to make handling easier. The third option is a portable monitorby connecting a device such as a smartphone (including the latest iPhone) or laptop to its USB Type-C port.

As we have already told you, another interesting innovation will be its hardware engine, as it will use a APU ‘Hawk Point’ belonging to the next generation of AMD processors, Ryzen 8000, as a replacement for Ryzen 7000 Mobile for notebooks. This APU will operate in the power range of 22 to 28 watts and will use the new ZEN4 architecture with integrated RDNA 3 graphics.

Another redesigned component will be the XDNA engine, which will enable better AI capabilities and help AMD stay competitive with the NPU/VPU that Intel has prepared for the upcoming Meteor Lake platform. LPDDR5 RAM is expanded to 6400 MHz (no amount specified) and M.2 SSDs for storage.

As regards connectivity, is compatible with the latest Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless standards and has a four-speaker audio system, a 5 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera with IR to support Windows Hello for security and authentication tasks. Its battery will have a capacity greater than 50 Wh.
