Musk believes artificial intelligence could lead to the extinction of humanity

Elon Musk warns that artificial intelligence (AI) could lead to the extinction of humanity if programmed by environmental activists.

According to Ukrinform, BBC reported on this issue.

Speaking on comedian Joe Rogan’s podcast on Tuesday, Musk said some people will use this technology to protect the planet by ending human lives.

Musk was speaking ahead of the ongoing AI Security Summit in the UK, where he will meet Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.

Many experts consider such warnings excessive.

Elon Musk said his comments were motivated by fears that the environmental movement had “gone too far”.

“If you start thinking that humans are bad, the natural conclusion is that humans must disappear… If artificial intelligence is programmed by supporters of environmental movements, its beneficial function will be the extinction of humanity…” – said Musk.

“We call for global cooperation to share knowledge and make artificial intelligence technologies available to the public,” he said.

“Countries, regardless of size and power, have equal rights to develop and use artificial intelligence. We must increase the representation and voice of developing countries,” Musk added.

As reported, one of the biggest threats to artificial intelligence is the disinformation and mass propaganda produced by this technology. For this reason, the world is now trying to develop virtual assistants that will quickly provide data regarding the accuracy of information.
