Just over a year after Parallels’ parent company acquired Belgium’s Awingu, the Awingu brand name will disappear.
Stop saying Awingu and say Parallels Secure Workspace. Parallels itself lets us know. The parent company of it Remote desktopSolution bought the Belgian Awingu in the summer of 2022 to protect its own offering. This parent company was still called Corel at the time, but has since changed its name and is now called Alludo. Alludo has now decided that it is time to fully integrate Awingu into the Parallels family.
Remote work via the browser
Awingu was founded in our country in 2011 with headquarters in Ghent. The solution provides customers with a secure way to enable BOYD and remote work through a secure virtual workspace that runs entirely in the browser. Since the end user does not need agents or other software, Awingu is very flexible and accessible.
Functionally, nothing changes in this design. Parallels emphasizes that the client software approach, with the browser and HTML5 as the foundation, remains at the core of Parallels Secure Workspace. Customers can continue to grant access to virtual apps, desktops, files, storage and more. Parallels Secure Workspace complements existing products such as Parallels RAS and Parallels Desktop for Mac and ChromeOS, respectively.
