Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, said that he did not use the Telegram messaging application because he found it too dangerous

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksiy Danilov, said that he did not use the Telegram messaging application because he found it too dangerous and vulnerable.

He expressed this opinion in an interview with Liga.net, according to Ukrinform.

“No, I do not have Telegram. I believe that this is a very dangerous and vulnerable messenger. And I do not recognize anonymous things. When I see a particular Kolya228, I need to understand what kind of Kolya he is,” said Danilov, answering the question of whether he personally uses the Telegram messaging application .

At the same time, the Secretary of the National Security Council said, “Telegram is an influence system where people start promoting things in exchange for money. This is not about journalism, it is about influence.”

“From the point of view of national security, this is a very, very dangerous thing. I am not against the fact that messengers exist, but I would like each of these nicknames to have a completely understandable person,” Danilov said.

When asked if the authorities were planning to ban Telegram somehow, the NSDC secretary replied: “You can guess, now Myacheslavovich says we plan to ban Telegram. Can you imagine what kind of investments people are making? There are camps that are investing in all this equipment and buying sevens.” “

Danilov added, “Believe me, we will not be late if we receive the necessary documents from the relevant services.”

“You asked me if I use Telegram. I don’t have such an app on any of my devices. It’s a very vulnerable app. That’s why in 99% of cases it’s sitting next to your phone when you need it.”

So I don’t have it and never had it,” replied the NSDC secretary when asked for his opinion on the Telegram ban.

As previously reported, Oksana Maidan, deputy director of Internews in Ukraine, presenting the results of the research “Ukrainian media: attitudes and trust in 2023” at a press conference at Ukrinform, said that during the war, Ukrainians received news mostly from social networks, especially From Telegram.
