A US jury found Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, guilty of seven charges, including conspiracy to defraud FTX investors and money laundering.

This was reported by CNBC, according to a report from Ukrinform.

FTX’s founder faces a maximum sentence of 115 years in prison.

Bankman-Fried had previously pleaded not guilty to charges related to the collapse of FTX and sister hedge fund Alameda late last year.

The decision will be announced on March 28, 2024.

Meanwhile, a new trial against Bankman-Fried is scheduled to begin on March 11. Prosecutors must tell the court by Feb. 1 whether they plan to pursue charges in the case.

As Ukrinform reported, in December last year, police in the Bahamas arrested Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the bankrupt FTX cryptocurrency exchange.
