The new Dell UltraSharp 27 monitors are the first used by the company IPS black panel technology created by LG Display. They are combined with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and certification for eye protection.
The range of monitors is as wide as it corresponds to the main peripheral of any PC. If most are promoted for the gaming section, there are others for professional tasks related to visual editing and others simply for work on computer tasks. The new UltraSharp 27s (models U2724D and U2724DE) are from this group, but they have interesting new features, such as IPS Black, which LG Display is promoting.
It is a technology that promises greater contrast and deeper blacks than standard IPS. In fact, the static contrast ratio increases to 2,000:1 and black levels increase by 35% on the new Dell displays. It also increases the refresh rate from the typical 60 Hz to 120 Hz
They offer 27 inches diagonal and native QHD resolution for 2560 x 1440 pixels. They achieve 350 nits of typical brightness, 100% sRGB and 98% coverage of the DCi-P3 color space and have a GTG response time of 5ms. Displays are delivered factory calibrated in sRGB, BT.709, DCI-P3 and Display P3 modes and with delta E <2.
Another new feature is the “Five Star” certification from TUV Rheinland, one of the leading providers of professional and independent testing services dedicated to combating annoying blue light and caring for our suffering eyesight. Viewing angles remain at 178 degrees.
Monitors have a base that allows adjustment of tilt, height, swivel and rotation. The difference between the two models lies in its connectivity. The U2724D has DisplayPort 1.4 inputs (+1 DP output), one HDMI, three USB ports, one audio line output and one USB Type-C with 15W power supply (+1 USB-C upstream). The DE model includes the above plus a Thunderbolt 3 downstream port with DP Alt mode and 15W power supply, RJ45 Ethernet and a KVM switch.
The price of the new Dell UltraSharp 27 is 479 and 649 dollars, respectively They will be available from November 9.
