Google released Android 14 QPR1 beta 2.2, which is a minor feature update but fixes more than 30 bugs and other issues. The update is available for all Pixel devices released onwards, including the Pixel 5a.

List of bug fixes (changelog) in Android 14 QPR1 beta 2.2:

  • Fixed an issue where devices sometimes could not receive calls. (Issue #298747690)
  • Fixed the issue where tapping or long-pressing the Quick Settings tile would sometimes not launch the relevant app or settings menu. (Issue #302147272)
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the Settings app to crash when checking for system software updates. (Issue #303739210)
  • Fixed an issue that prevented device mirroring from working properly with Pixel Fold devices. (Issue #302003079)
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented system settings from loading to override the application for the large screen user.
  • Fixed an issue where the camera HAL would sometimes apply the wrong setup profile when an application requested a specific camera mode.
  • Fixed an issue that sometimes caused the system or device UI to crash if the enhanced availability mode was quickly changed.

  • Fixed an issue on the Pixel tablet where if the user unlocked the device with their fingerprint while the screen saver was active, the device would return to the home screen instead of the app that was open while it was locked.
  • Fixed an issue that caused memory corruption in some cases.
  • Fixed various issues affecting system stability, performance and connectivity

Although the update fixes a number of bugs, Google’s bug tracker still has a few major bugs, including Bluetooth audio issues, lock screen, and always-on display issues. But the company still has just over a month to fix these issues before a stable release is expected in the first or second week of December.
