The US Department of Defense denied reports that Russia is deploying laser weapons systems in Ukraine. Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said this during a briefing on Friday. The Pentagon noted that Russia has not confirmed its claims regarding the alleged use in Ukraine of recent developments, especially in combat lasers capable of hitting air targets.
“We have no indication of the use of lasers, or at least combat lasers, in Ukraine,” said a spokesman for the US Department of Defense.
Kirby added that the Russians’ statements were in no way corroborated.
Recently, Russian invaders have stated that they claim to use laser weapon systems called Zadyra in Ukraine. According to them, these are laser weapons that allegedly “recover expensive missiles by physically hitting air targets.”
Russia has a new generation of laser weapons, including a mobile laser system, which they say can hit a target at a distance of up to 5 km. But Russia did not specify in which parts of the front such weapons were used and their achievements.
We remind you that yesterday the Russians launched a missile attack on the city of Lozova in the Kharkov region. The rocket crashed into the restored cultural center.
“The occupiers have identified culture, education and humanity as their enemies. And they don’t drop missiles or bombs on them,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
As a result of the bombardment, 7 people were injured, including an 11-year-old boy. The city of Lozova is located in the southern part of the Kharkiv region. There is an important central train station in the settlement. Source
