Pope Francis today reiterated the “serious situation” between Palestinians and Israelis and He asked “in the name of God” for a ceasefire, and that every possible way should be sought to avoid widening the conflict, in the call after the Angelus prayer in St. Peter’s Square.

“I keep thinking about the serious situation in Palestine and Israel, where so many people have died. Please, in the name of God, stop the fire.
