SK On Co., part of South Korea’s second-largest conglomerate SK Group, will supply battery cells for Swedish company Polestar’s electric cars.

According to the agreement signed between the parties, SK On will supply batteries to Polestar for its flagship four-door Polestar 5 grand touring car, starting from 2025.
The South Korean company added that Polestar 5 will work with SK On ultra-long high nickel batteries consisting of 56 centimeter-long cells.
These batteries have increased safety.
It was noted that the agreement was signed after the Korean company invested in the Swedish company and a memorandum of understanding was signed to strengthen their cooperation in the field of electric vehicles in 2021.
