“DIGITAL VANGUARD-S robot complexes were delivered to the pyrotechnic units of the Mykolayiv and Zaporizhzhia regions and the sappers of the Luhansk garrison, currently operating in the Kherson region. The message also included the Mobile Rescue Rapid Response Center, the Interregional Rapid Response Center of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and 2 of the State Emergency Service “We would also like to thank the Special Rapid Response Center.” expressions are included.
As stated by the State Emergency Service, currently 30% of the total area of Ukraine (or 174 thousand km²) is potentially hazardous. The new equipment will help carry out remote reconnaissance and neutralize munitions faster and with less risk to health and life.
Thanks to wireless and wired connectivity, robots can operate for up to 5 hours and perform various tasks such as remotely destroying explosive objects or exploring the area.
DIGITAL VANGUARD–S has three installed cameras that allow the operator to monitor manipulations and receive a clear, high-quality image of the work area in real time. Such technological capabilities make it possible not to approach explosive objects. Thanks to their small size and maneuverability, robots can be used in hard-to-reach places.
Since the beginning of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, a total of 450,998 explosives and 2,892 kg of explosives have been defused, including 3,122 aerial bombs. Research was carried out in the region with an area of over 107 thousand 920 hectares.
In November, rescue teams in Kiev received three more new fire trucks from European partners, Ukrinform reported.
