A major educational event, organized for the seventh consecutive year with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, will be held in Kiev this year from 6 to 13 November 2023. Thus, Huawei continues to support the development of quality education and promote greater employment of talented Ukrainians in the field of ICT.
The eight-day intensive “Seeds for the Future” program began yesterday with a grand opening ceremony held at the State University of Information and Communication Technologies and at the base of the capital’s UNIT.City innovation park.
“This year’s program participants “Seeds for the Future” Will be able to expand their technical and digital knowledge and at the same time sharpen their entrepreneurial thinking, – he said in his introductory speech Tony Cao, head assistant “Huawei Ukraine”. — The best teams will participate in the Tech4Good Global Competition, where they will compete to win and discover the enormous potential of ICT to drive sustainable development. “I am confident that Ukrainian students have the opportunity to lead the next wave of innovation to develop breakthrough technologies, start their own businesses or create new partnerships across countries and cultures.”.
At the event, 21 finalists of the optional competition were given the opportunity to study and work in project groups. New information for ambitious Ukrainian youth is provided by leading domestic and international experts in the field of ICT. Telecommunications, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, energy, innovation, etc. They share current industry trends in their fields with students. The mentors of the program also give examples of the implementation of practical tasks consisting in the effective application of ICT in various fields. For example, students attend masterclasses on leadership, employment, entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
Thanks to the “Seeds of the Future” program, young Ukrainian talents have the opportunity to acquire new skills that are absolutely necessary for both their professional development and the development of the field of information and communication technologies. “Huawei Ukraine” once again demonstrates the high level of organization of the process with the participation of leading industry experts and representatives of competent authorities. “These actions taken today will definitely yield good results in the future” – commented Volodymyr Tolubko, rector of the State University of Information and Communication Technologies.
In addition to improving their communication skills, young people also learn how to properly present themselves and their ideas using modern technologies. Such a comprehensive approach allows participants to better understand technological trends, construction and operational features of 5G and cloud computing. Insights from industry experts will help newcomers create a team idea for a startup that aims to solve social and environmental problems. Thus, the competitiveness of 2023 students and graduates in the labor market will increase. The best startup developer team will be invited to participate in the Tech4Good Startup Sprint international competition with a prize fund of $100,000.
Graduates of the program will also have online access to educational and motivational events in the Huawei Seeds for the Future LinkedIn Group alumni community. For example, in 2023, Huawei launched a new ambassador program for the Seed of the Future program, which will include the most successful graduates of all years. Thus, this year’s graduates will have the opportunity to present the “Seeds for the Future” program on various information platforms and online events.
“Sharing experiences gained in the field of ICT provides a better understanding of the common and distinctive features of local markets and where and how to move forward to create new intellectual opportunities. Ukrainian students can start their career path now, thanks to the “Seeds of the Future” and the practical skills they will acquire throughout the program. “This knowledge will allow them to lay the foundation for creating a smarter and more sustainable world.” – he said in his speech Mykhailo Zgurovsky named KPI rector. Appropriate certificates will be given to students who successfully complete the program. Additionally, the best students will be invited to a paid internship at Huawei Ukraine. For this, program participants must successfully pass the exams in the mandatory online courses (get at least 80 points out of 100). Then, they will be interviewed in one of the company’s departments, and based on their results, a decision will be made regarding further internships.
