SAMSUNGA leading South Korean technology company has introduced its first generative artificial intelligence model. Samsung Gauss. The model is named after the famous mathematician Carl Friedrich Gauss, who developed the theory of normal distribution (Gauss theory), which is widely considered the basis of artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies.
The name “reflects Samsung’s ultimate vision for models, which is to use all the world’s facts and knowledge to harness the power of AI to improve the lives of consumers around the world,” the company said in a statement during the Samsung AI Forum.
Samsung Gauss is the first self-developed Generative AI model
Samsung Gauss, which is currently used to increase the productivity of employees in the company, will soon be expanded to various product applications. The model consists of three main components: Samsung Gaussian language, Samsung Gaussian code, and Samsung Gaussian image.
Samsung Gaussian Language is a generative language model designed to increase productivity by assisting with tasks such as writing emails, document summarization, and translation. When applied to products, it can also improve the consumer experience by enabling smarter device control.
Samsung Gauss Code is a coding assistant that simplifies in-house software development. It simplifies the coding process and provides interactive features such as code description and test creation.
Samsung Gauss Image can create and edit images, allowing you to style, add and transform images from low resolution to high resolution.
These models can be applied to the device to protect consumer privacy. Additionally, the Samsung AI Red Team carefully examines security and privacy issues that may arise during data collection, AI model development, service deployment, and delivery of results. Samsung’s push into generative AI marks a significant step towards its vision of using AI to enhance consumer experience and improve their lives.
