Microsoft plans to introduce its artificial intelligence-based Copilot-based personal assistant for the Windows 10 operating system.
This was reported by Engadget, according to Ukrinform’s report.
As mentioned, Windows 11’s Copilot button and sidebar will soon appear on the Windows 10 taskbar. Clicking the button will open the same Copilot sidebar interface as in Windows 11.
The AI assistant for Windows 11 was released in beta in August and officially from September. Windows 10 Copilot will include add-ons that will work on both operating systems.
According to the publication, one of the main reasons Microsoft introduced AI capabilities in Windows 10 is market share: About 1 billion people use the previous version of Windows, compared to 40 million Windows 11 users.
The Windows report also notes that Microsoft is reviewing its rapid migration strategy from Windows 10. The company is reportedly planning to add “some new features and services” to the legacy operating system that was previously exclusive to Windows 11. Support for Windows 10 ends in 2013 in October 2025, but internal discussions are ongoing at the company regarding the possibility of its continuation.
According to Ukrinform, the technology that forms the basis of the ChatGPT artificial intelligence system will be added to the Microsoft 365 employee software.
