The US president’s team mounted a diplomatic operation to repair hostile relations after Biden ordered the shooting down of a suspected Chinese spy balloon that took to the skies over the US in February.

One of the main results is expected to be increased diplomacy: promises to talk more about key issues such as climate, global health, economic stability, the fight against drug trafficking and, potentially, the resumption of some military-to-military communication channels after the high-level freeze.
