ANDAlmost two months have passed since Apple introduced the iPhone 15generational change that we’re used to every year, and let’s remember that three months before what was probably the most important announcement of the year for those at Cupertino, their Apple Vision Pro spatial viewer/computer, a device that has great meaning for Tim Cook, the current CEO of the company, as we can say that this is the first project entirely his, together with Apple Silicon, since the previous startups began under the leadership of Steve Jobs.
There are quite a few new features that came with the new generation iPhone, especially the Pro and Pro Max models. However, some of the news that was announced at the event has yet to see the light of day. This is normal and common, in many presentations manufacturers tell us the features that will come to their devices and services later, not on the day of their launch.
And what is the relationship between the Apple Vision Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max? If you remember the introduction of the latter, almost at the end of the event that Apple announced Space video (Spatial Video), a function that uses the main sensor (wide-angle) and the ultra-wide angle of the two models to record in a proprietary 3D format that will be reproduced in all its beauty in the viewfinder, allowing us to once again enjoy places in an immersive way, which we recorded.

In terms of prioritization, Apple could prioritize other features since the viewfinder has yet to hit the market, although it’s true that smartphone users planning to purchase a viewfinder must be eager to start recording videos in this format. So the good news is that, as we can read in GSMArena, Apple has already enabled spatial recording in iOS 17.2 betathe final version of which we hope will be released, barring surprises, within this month.
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max users who have beta access enabled and are already evaluating iOS 17.2 before its launch can now try out the feature and activate it via the device’s camera settings. Of course, it will be more than convenient to have some control over the length of recordings, as they claim that when recording video at 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second, we will need about 130 megabytes for each minute of video.
