Japanese electronics giant Sharp will introduce its new colorful E-Ink products at the Sharp Technology Day event to be held on November 10-12. The new E-Ink products will use IGZO technology and feature state-of-the-art color e-posters. Sharp says its new E-Ink offering is cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

Sharp Technology Day event takes place in Tokyo. The color e-poster is A2 size and uses E Ink Spectra technology and IGZO backplane technology. It delivers vibrant colors with premium contrast comparable to premium color paper. This model, which will be the first color e-paper billboard in the industry, will have a stylish design and zero power consumption in standby mode.
In addition to the ePoster, an 8-inch color e-paper display is also included in the product range. The product is designed for e-note devices and e-book readers. Sharp’s innovative IGZO display technology is attracting industry attention, with E Ink and Sharp already announcing a collaboration. The collaboration will include the development of a range of e-paper signs, e-note devices and e-book readers. Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) backplane technology is used in the production of e-paper modules used in e-readers and e-notes.
There is currently no indication of full release details and pricing information for the new Sharp E-Ink products. But more optics are expected during product launches at the Sharp Technology event at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center.
