Boeing’s mysterious X-37B drone is preparing for its next mission. It will start in less than a month. US space forces are preparing to send the X-37B into orbit. The mission, called USSF-52, is planned to take place on December 7, 2023. The orbiter will be launched into space using the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.
The USA is trying to keep the features and missions of the spacecraft secret. Given the limited information, the Russians began to speculate that the drone could strike from space. Last year, the US Space Force announced that the X-37B was used to conduct experiments at an altitude of approximately 400 km above the Earth’s surface.
Boeing’s space probe helped conduct a series of tests on generating energy using solar panels and transmitting it to Earth using microwave radiation. Also during the previous flight, NASA evaluated the impact of space on various materials.
X-37B is a record-breaking spacecraft. The previous mission with his participation lasted a record time of 908 days and ended on November 12, 2022. The previous record was set during the drone’s fifth flight, during which it remained in orbit for 780 days. Source
