EliteMini UM780 XTX is a new mini-PC from MINISFORUM. A specialist in this type of machine that has a wide catalog under Intel and AMD architectures and prices to meet any budget.
MINISFORUM promotes the EliteMini UM780 XTX as “the most advanced mini-PC with integrated graphics on the market” in performance and with the most complete connectivity. To do this, choose an AMD platform with a processor Ryzen 7 7840HS. A very powerful CPU (for a compact) with 8 cores and 16 threads, 16 MB cache and a working frequency in turbo mode above 5 GHz.
Its graphics chip is integrated Radeon 780M, better in all parts than its Intel counterparts, although it can also use external dedicated graphics, as we’ll see below. It can be equipped with up to 96 GB of dual-channel DDR memory, while for storage it has two SSDs connected to PCIe 4.0.
Its connectivity is completely complete and is the hallmark of any self-confident mini-PC. We see two 2.5 GbE Ethernet LAN ports, Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5. For video and audio outputs, it has HDMI 2.1 and Display Port 1.4. They also serve well as ports for peripheral devices, debuting the new USB4 interface.
To complete the connectivity part, we have to highlight the Oculink port that it contains and which, with its 63 Gbps bandwidth, is intended for the use of external graphics cards, with which it will (a lot) boost the performance of the graphics subsystem.
The mini-PC features an improved cooling system with liquid metal applied to the CPU and a fan for active cooling. MINISFORUM states that the computer supports two power modes: a balanced mode with a TDP set to a maximum of 54 watts, and a performance mode that allows it to run. up to 70 watts.
Let’s say that the top cover of the computer is magnetic, which allows it to be removed very easily. Below that is an RGB light panel that, according to the company, “can be customized with different patterns”. If you don’t want that much light, it can be disabled in the BIOS. The company sells this EliteMini UM780 XTX on its website in a barebones pro format 479 dollars. The configured base variant costs $629 with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD.
