Last chance: Google will start deleting inactive accounts in early December

The reason for this is pretty simple: Google says inactive accounts are easy targets for hackers because they’re now more likely to use unsecured passwords. They are also the target of spam, phishing, hacking and many other attacks.

Detail

Pages that have not shown any activity for two years or more are in danger of disappearing. According to past announcements; Deleting an account will result in the loss of almost all traces left by a person on company platforms.: Gmail, Docs, Drive, Sheets, and everything else. The only exception would be YouTube; Videos uploaded from deleted accounts will not disappear from the service.

To prevent this from happening, a user who has not logged in to his account for a long time must log in and perform at least one action: send an email, download an app from the Play Store, watch a video on YouTube, create, open a file in Docs, or Upload something to Drive. This needs to be done by December.

We should also point out that this cleaning will only affect personal accounts. Google does not remove business or education accounts. At least they haven’t said anything about it yet. Account deletion cannot be undone.

To ensure that Google doesn’t accidentally delete an account, the company started sending reminders with recovery addresses to users with inactive accounts. The email notifies users that their account has been deleted for security reasons.
