The Colombian Navy reported intercepting a semi-submersible ship carrying 1,885 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride in Colombian Pacific waters.
The vehicle was intended to transport cargo to Central America when it was discovered by the Coast Guard, who found 94 packages containing rectangular bags.
The semi-submersible was crewed by three people: one Colombian and two Ecuadorians.
They were transported along with the drugs to a Navy ship and then to the port of Tumaco in Nariño.
The semi-submersible ship sank before reaching the port due to “difficult weather conditions.”
At the port, the substance was identified as cocaine hydrochloride and those detained, aged 26, 37 and 63, were charged.
The drug would allow drug trafficking organizations to earn more than $63 million from the sale of more than 4.7 million doses of cocaine. (Europe Press).
