Video hosting YouTube deleted more than 70,000 videos and 9,000 channels that spread false information about the war in Ukraine and violated the platform’s rules.

As Ukrinform reports, The Guardian reports.

It is stated that these are videos that describe the war in Ukraine as a “liberation operation”.

At the same time, it is not specified which channels were deleted. However, according to video hosting director Neil Mohan, most of them sprang up Kremlin narratives.

“We have a policy of major violence, and that includes denying such incidents: From the Holocaust to Sandy Hook (mass murder at school – ed.). And of course, what happened in Ukraine is massive violence. It is therefore unprecedented. “We implemented this policy to initiate actions,” he said.

In general, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the platform has blocked a number of channels, including those connected with the Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, as well as with the Russian Ministry of Defense.

As reported, on February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops bombard and destroy important infrastructure facilities; using artillery, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and ballistic missiles, they are intensely bombarding residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages.
