A user from Wisconsin posted on the Reddit forum a Starlink connection test using the Ookla Speedtest tool. Web download speeds were 301 Mbps, significantly higher than the US Starlink average (105 Mbps as of Q4 2021).
The result is not a record overall for Starlink (560Mbps recorded in Germany last May), but a record for the United States. More importantly, the result was recorded primarily in rural Wisconsin – Starlink and is designed to provide fast and inexpensive access to the network for those living in remote areas and corners.
It should be noted that at high data download speeds, the speed of downloading information to the Network is still low, in this case – only 20.5 Mbps. Also noteworthy is the long delay – 72 ms. However, as new satellites are launched into orbit (and Starlink is doing this quickly), speeds will increase and delays will decrease. Earlier, Elon Musk promised that in 2022, the Starlink network will cover the entire Earth. Source
