As the CEO noted, the latest version of Threads for iOS and Android already includes an option that allows users to delete their Threads account without affecting their Instagram account.

• Two options are available: Delete Profile or Disable.
• If you choose the “Deactivate Profile” option, it will be archived and you can easily restore all information and posts if you decide to rejoin the Threads.
• If you delete your account, the company will completely delete your profile and all your posts, but without deleting your Instagram account anymore.

The first clues about the development of this function appeared in September. It’s now slowly spreading among users, so not everyone can see it on their apps yet. By the way, with this update, the settings also offer the option to refuse your posts from being displayed as suggestions to other users in Facebook and Instagram feeds.

The final launch date for the new features for everyone is still unknown.
