British technology company Nothing shared important news. Owners of Nothing Phone 2 smartphones will soon be able to exchange messages with users of the Apple iMessage service.
This feature will be available to users in North America, the European Union and other European countries starting Friday, November 17, 2023.
It’s interesting that nothing has started to be discussed directly with Apple. The nuance here is that the exchange of messages will be possible through the new Nothing Chats program created on the Sunbird platform. Users will need to sign in to Nothing Chats using an Apple ID account and allow the app to access iCloud. To do this, you need to have some trust in the Sunbird developers.
It is also worth keeping in mind that functionality will be missing; Group chats, editing of previously sent messages, and reactions will not be available. Last week, it was reported that Google had decided to buy back iMessage from Apple, using a new European law and gaining the support of mobile carriers. Source
